Kelsey has been an avid lifter and fitness nut for nearly 10 years after falling in love with the gym in 2015. Kelsey is also a competitive powerlifter and powerlifting coach who is passionate about helping athletes of all ages realize their potential to gain strength with appropriate guidance, both mental and physical. Whether you are brand new to the gym or a seasoned lifter, Kelsey will allow you to feel comfortable in the gym while seeing progress and enjoying the process. 


Mackie’s Menopause Strength class is back for 2025!
The end of your menstrual cycle signals the beginning of many other changes in the body: hot flashes, mood swings, weight gain, and loss of muscle mass (to name a few). Menopause is a biological process that can’t be stopped; however, one can work towards optimizing and proactively managing this time in your life.

Your diet, exercise, and lifestyle choices play a huge role in how your body experiences and responds to menopause. A sedentary lifestyle, smoking, and eating a poor diet can make common menopause symptoms worse. You may start to experience low energy levels, poor quality sleep, and decreased motivation, all of which can result in weight gain, muscle loss, and poor self-image or mental health.

Mackie Physiotherapy has developed a Menopause Strength Training Camp designed to provide you with a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to optimize your exercise routine while going through this transitional period in your life. Our camp will take you through functional moments that strengthen your body and your mind. Strength training applies to your everyday life: keeping up with grandchildren, cleaning your house, doing yard work, and maintaining your independence are just a few examples. Every exercise in the camp is clearly demonstrated and can be modified to ensure safety and comfortability while developing your strength with proper guidance and support.

Mackie’s Menopause and Strength Training Camp is the best option for avoiding loss of muscle mass, decreased bone density/strength, unwanted weight gain, and decreased mental health, all of which are common symptoms for those going through menopause or perimenopause.

This class includes the following (+ more) throughout the 12 weeks:

  • Initial ‘testing’ period: baseline measures of your strength
  • Skill acquisition + developmental weeks
  • Progressive overload: getting you stronger through expert strength programming
  • End-of-class ‘testing’ period: a repeat of the initial strength measures (to see how far you’ve come!)
  • A FUN, SUPPORTIVE, + CHALLENGING opportunity!
