Running Rehab: Load Management & The Art of Training Slow
July 15, 2025 @ 7 PM at the Arlington Clinic

Presenter:
Alex Donald PT, B.Sc. (Physiology & Pharmacology), M.P.H., M.P.T.

One of the most common complaints that I find among runners that have a goal is that they are able to train for a period of time – maybe several weeks to a few months – before their body begins to break down. This can happen in many forms: shin splints, tendinopathies, generalized knee pain, increased fatigue, and stress fractures just to name a few. Interestingly, there is usually a common theme among these runners – they are either running too hard, too often, or a combination of the two. As a result, they end up stressing their bodies to the point where they are overloading their tissues and joints. My solution to this – reducing the load by going slow.

In this workshop, I will review the risks of overloading when running as well as some common injury pathologies that runners experience. More importantly, I want to review several scientifically-backed strategies that you can follow to help you build musculoskeletal and aerobic adaptations specific to running that will help keep you on the road or trail while you work towards your running goals.

If you are interested, this workshop will be held on July 15, 2025 at 7 PM in the gym at our Arlington Location.

We hope to hear from you and any friends that would enjoy an evening of entertainment. Please share this link with anyone you feel would enjoy this workshop so they can register and learn as well.  Space is limited, so if you would like to join us for an evening of learning, we ask that you complete the form to register.
