Theresa Ziegler, B.Sc. P.T., Dip. C.R., B.D.N.
Theresa is a registered physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 2004. She has completed Levels I-III in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy curriculum. Theresa has done extensive work with myofascial release techniques and has worked with neuro-development treatments used for rehabilitation of stroke patients. Theresa has years of experience in treating TMJ and has completed several post-graduate courses in this field, making it an area of specialty.
Theresa works mainly through integrative manual therapy through the Integrated Systems Model, as she has completed lengthy studies in this field in Vancouver B.C. This therapy involves holistic assessment and treatment of dysfunctions through integrating many functional components of the body with corrective techniques. This system of treatment is highly useful for longstanding problems and ones that have gone unresolved with other treatments.
Dry Needling is also a practice area for Theresa, this is an alternate tool for releasing trigger points and dysfunctional muscle and fascia. Dry needling is also useful for conditions of sensitivity or chronic pain. Dry needling is utilized as an adjunctive treatment within a regular physiotherapy treatment or assessment.
Now in her 15th year of practice, Theresa has helped people of all ages through a wide variety of injuries with an extensive set of skills acquired through years of practice and over 20 post graduate courses.
Headaches, TMJ dysfunction, neck, rib, and the pelvis / hip are areas of particular interest for Theresa.
