Mark Walkner, BSc (Kin), MPT
Mark is originally from Edmonton, Alberta. He came to Saskatoon and complete his Kinesiology degrees at the University of Saskatchewan in 2007, and then completed his Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan in 2009. Mark has always had a passion for athletics, and was a member of the Huskies student trainer program through the U of S while attending school.
Since graduation, Mark has worked primarily in private orthopaedic physiotherapy. His love of athletics brought him back to the U of S Huskies where he worked with elite level university athletes competing in all CIS sports. Mark has also worked with the most complex WCB and SGI cases in the province, as well as clients from all walks of life. Mark is passionate about providing high quality, client-centred care involving hands on therapy, exercise prescription, and education to help clients reach their goals. Mark is a firm believer in the importance of exercise and gaining/maintaining functional strength throughout your lifetime.
Mark has completed multiple post-education courses including the integrated manual therapy courses, Advanced Rehabilitation of the Hip, and is certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).
Mark currently works full time with the Health Authority in an administration role, however his passion for treating and helping clients has brought him to Mackie Physiotherapy in 2017 on a part-time basis.
Mark likes to spend his spare time with his wife, Jodi, and their two young boys. Mark competes in powerlifting, which is his major passion, but he also enjoys hockey, football, and all water sports.
