Kelsey grew up in small town Saskatchewan before moving to British Columbia in 2016 to complete her post-secondary education. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics (Clinical Exercise Physiology) in 2020 at UBC Okanagan.
Kelsey has been an avid lifter and fitness nut for nearly 10 years after falling in love with the gym in 2015. Pursuing a degree in the field of health and exercise sciences was a no-brainer, and becoming a certified personal trainer was the natural path for her following the completion of her degree. She has worked with many different types of clients over the years including younger adolescents, older individuals, strength athletes, and those who have dealt with injury or mobility restrictions. Her goal as a trainer is to help every client see their strength, movement capacity, and personal relationship to fitness grow while genuinely enjoying their time in the gym. Kelsey is also a competitive powerlifter and powerlifting coach who is passionate about helping athletes of all ages realize their potential to gain strength with appropriate guidance, both mental and physical. Her experience in dealing with injuries herself has allowed her to better understand the degree to which movement and function can be impacted, and wants to help those who may be dealing with or recovering from injury retain and gain function over time with individualized training protocols and guidance. Whether you are brand new to the gym or a seasoned lifter, Kelsey will allow you to feel comfortable in the gym while seeing progress and enjoying the process. In her spare time, Kelsey can often be found at the gym near a barbell, cooking and/or baking up a storm, golfing poorly, and spending time with her adorable black cat, Truffle. |
